I am currently working in a sales Support role at a large cap Fortune 50 company, but my academic background and interests are geared towards finance. I saw an internal position for a plant analyst position that I am qualified for, but I am worried I will not be considered by the recruiter. I do, however, have the name of the hiring manager.
Would it be overly forward to send the hiring manager a polite email mentioning my career at the company and my interest in finance? I would love to do a brief informational interview. I’m just nervous of seeming desperate and intrusive.
