Working for a political party you don't necessarily agree with

Hello everyone,

I have a strange situation. I'm a recent Poli Sci grad who has been applying to jobs as of late. One of the jobs that has come up is a communications analyst position with a subnational political party. The job sounds like it would be fun, and would involve writing speeches and columns for representatives. I'm hoping for a career in comms as well, so it may be a good springboard for my career in that regard.

However, the party is not one that I would necessarily vote for. They aren't terrible by any means, just not one I would support tooth and nail. Would working for a party now "brand" me, and come back to bite me later? Would it make working for another party impossible (probably a stupid question)?

I have another offer, but it's a policy job with a government agency. Pays better, work could be interesting, and is a little less controversial, but I'm not sure how easy it is to move from policy to comms, which is where I would like to ultimately end up.

Sort of two separate but related issues here. Any advice, insight would be much appreciated.
