I've been presented with two employment opportunities but I don't have an official offer letter yet for either of them. However, for both I've been given an unofficial notice I have the job if I want it.
Job 1 would shift me into privacy and cyber security. I also have a contact in that department that's willing to mentor me. The company has no caps on employee training costs and I don't owe them time for any training they pay for.
Job 2 would keep me in my existing tech type job but the company has a $2500 cap on training per year. Groups says onboarding comes with a lot of support.
I know both groups intimately. Unfortunately I have to make a decision this week without a letter because they need to find other talent if I'm not interested.
Which role should I take? Both have their benefits and disadvantages. I've been spinning on this for the last few days.
