My current notice period is quite long (2months) and the new employer wants me to start in 2 months even though I wouldn't have completed my security checks by then.
I don't get this as I wouldn't be doing much anyway and isn't it a risk for them as well if I fail for some reason?
I have said I would like to wait as long as it takes first but wondered what the protocol was in these situations? My biggest worry is not clearing for any minor reason and just being out of both jobs!
