I have my performance evaluation today and I’m a little nervous. My annual bonus/merit raise is on the line. I’ve butted heads with my boss this year, but have ultimately been proven to be justified. I also feel like I’ve kicked some major ass with all of my projects and my clients love me. The problem is that my boss does not work with me directly and doesn’t see me on a day to day basis. I’m worried that she will just grade me based off what she’s personally encountered with me. I am also substantially underpaid compared to my peers and I wanted to address this gap in pay. Midpoint for me is $62k and I’m currently making $52k base. I want to get closer to bridging this gap and I’m not sure how to sell the idea to her. Any thoughts? This year the portfolio I supported was the top growth in the state, I trained someone who got promoted, and was the first in the state to finish a large company-wide project. Many of my counterparts in other cities come to me for procedural advice. I’m almost done with my bachelors degree, which many of my counterparts don’t have. I think these are positive factors, but any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
