Hello everyone, some background for context. I am a 23 year old male who studied computer science in college and lives in New York city. I am currently working as an lead software developer at a startup making 60k. I know that if I stay in this field I can be very well compensated in the future upwards of 6 figures. However, I don't believe I enjoy doing this kind of work. Some things that bother me about the job is the stress of constantly being pushed to have a new feature out or the stress of there being an issue with the product. Additionally my job is an 90 min commute which doesn't help. I believe I would much prefer working with my hands and being outdoors. I do really enjoy the woods and have thought about moving to PA, NH, VT as I find that it tends to be more rustic in these states. Unfortunately, I don't think my current profession has any jobs there. I enjoy the thought of being a carpenter or plumber or even driving a train (lirr or metro north). I also enjoy the thought of being a park ranger. I am just looking for some advice on what I should do with my life? Choose money over happiness?
