Hi all! I'm a 17f in Canada and will need to apply for college soon, but I have a dilemma. I'm not sure what to go for.
I am 99% sure I would enjoy ECE more than nursing, but ECEs make about 30k a year here whereas PRNs make 50k, and I need to consider whether I can comfortably live off 30k (before taxes!). I'm living in the breadline now and am not a huge fan of the thought of going to college to basically make minimum wage.
Nursing has been my idea since I was really young, so I feel kind of attached to it and am afraid I'll regret not going into it. It's a very competitive program, though, and I would have to move pretty far away from home (2-10 hours, depending on which college), meaning I wouldn't see my family much.
I would appreciate experiences from PRNs/RNs and ECEs, as well as any advice or opinions! Thanks so much.
