I’ve been doing some internal digging lately. I sold my house through an agent three years ago. I still go online 4-5 times a week to check out new listings, see what properties sold for etc. I like houses. The thought of helping people find a home or sell their home is engaging to me. I’ve signed myself up for a real estate class. I also already have a job in the legal field (not an attorney )that I have held for 10 years. I make decent money for what I do and the insurance benefits are a must for my family. My job is 9-5 and has a decent amount of downtime and time off. I don’t hate what I’m doing but unless I want to go to law school, I am unable to advance any further at my job.
What are the chances a real estate agency would hire me to either work in the office part time while I gain more knowledge or better yet, let me work as an agent part time? I was a little concerned about not being taken seriously due to the part time status until someone pointed out there a plenty of “full time” agents that are anything but. I’m in my mid thirties and I want to do something that I’m really interested in but I also need the security for my family.
