Background: hospitality in a leadership position, assisted in opening a new location last year. I came onboard with the company along with a handful of previous coworkers. I am very committed to the company’s success and see a future in this company. (Company has Global placement potential and is very fast moving; with lots of properties). My current line manager and I joined the company within months of each other. We previously worked together for 4 years and had a very good working relationship.
Dilemma: I have brought up several concerns that have gone ignored. These issues have been validated by other coworkers voicing the same thing. Issues range from: -lack of professionalism with people that have the same title as me. -insubordination of people I oversee -delay in responding to concerns (months for anything to happen) -people not pulling their weight in terms of job expectations/standards.
Advice inquiry: I feel like what I say is not being heard and it’s building resentment.How do I fix this? Management has reassured issues would be handled but have taken months to address anything and never publicly. Since we are leadership we are expected to oversee departments which means our boss isn’t present during all operational hours. So bad-behavior’s persist. It’s affecting my job as I am carrying more of the weight of day to day operations, but this isn’t evident to my line manager.
Side note: I was told about a possible position which would be higher then my current title that may or may not be available in May of this year. It was mentioned that I might be a fit but need to improve on certain areas. I don’t know if this was just something said to keep me on board but the whole situation is frustrating and mentally wearing me down.
