I’m currently on short term disability for an injury and while I’m recovering a position in another field came open so I applied. Everything went well and I’m going through the background check now. I haven’t accepted an offer of employment yet because I want to wait until I’m off short term first. I plan on going back to my job and giving my notice. My question is if I start the on boarding process for this new job after I’m off of STD will I be okay or will they see that as fraud? To summarize I’m waiting to return to work before giving my notice to my employer and starting the paperwork with another one.
