Hi everyone,
I'd like to get some perspective on my career path because for the past year or two I've been trying to land a software development job in the Toronto area but feel as though I'm regularly underpaid.
A little over a year ago I just got an advanced diploma for software development in a local community college. Lucky, I was able to secure my first coding job for about 10 months doing 3 contracts/projects where I was being paid $14 CND with no benefits. Although I was very happy I quickly burnt myself out and felt as if I wasn't being paid enough.
So I decided to do to university to get my bachelor's and had 2 courses left by January. I've been applying to jobs since then and just competed my second last course and started my first offer, which, is paying $7,500 worth of company crypto-coin for 3 months. I took the job because it's flexible around my commute schedule for my final course but I still feel under valued as I've been struggling to have any disposable income.
My question is if these feelings are justified or should I just accept that I am lacking the resume to achieve a better salary?
