I have an acquaintance that works in retail as a manager. She gets very few days off and when she is off she still gets many calls or has to call in for regional meetings.
She's a single mom that struggles to make ends meet.
This retail life is really wearing her down and causing her teen daughters to have a lot of unsupervised time. (Luckily they're both really great kids)
She feels stuck because she needs the money and feels like retail is all she knows. She feels like she couldn't get any other jobs that pay similarly with the skill set she has.
It seems to me that managerial experience should be able to parlay to other areas.
Does anyone have experience with this? Any suggestions for her?
